The Romanian government, through the National Agency for Scientific Research, has began its sponsorship of NERVA, a Romanian orbital nanosatellite launcher. The launcher is currently in development by a joint team of professors and students from the Politehnica University in Bucharest and ADDA – the Association Dedicated to Development in Astronautics, directed by Dr. Radu Rugescu, professor of astronautics at UPB. The project is funded by a 3-year European Union grant. The project was cofounded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Competitiveness Operational Program. The MORALISS-NERVA contract began with NERVA and ORVEAL grants and continues to be open to international cooperation. Updates on the project will be available on Dr. Rugescu's page, through IAF and other public media channels used by NASR.
